The DFE-690TXD is targeted at users of notebook or laptop computers. The DFE-690TXD utilizes Nway (Auto-Negotiation) for dynamic speed adjustment for 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX for speeds of 20Mbps/200Mbps in full duplex mode.

The DFE-690TXD dual-speed 10/100 Mbps feature adheres to IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u, which specify 10BASE-T and 100BASETX Ethernet technology. Simple plug-and-play enables ease of installation, in addition to Hot Swapping capabilities for card detection while operating system is initialized.
